On December 2nd until December 10th, 2017; Alex and Servando will travel to Tanzania as part of the U.S. Department of States Sports Envoy Program. They will be shadowed by six Tanzanian female soccer coaches and senior athletes in a series of sessions working out with kids aged between 13-17 years, especially girls. Alex and Servando will share experiences and best practices related to soccer, American values, and increased participation for females in sport.
Along with the U.S. Department of State and FHI360; USG Alumni Gidibo Tindwa will partner with PAS Dar Es Salaam, Orkeeswa Secondary School, JMK Park, TFF and National Sports Council to;
1. Build capacities of six female Tanzanian athletes/coaches involved in coaching girls between 13-17 years old
2. Conduct life skills training for female athletes/coaches working with young girls and disability coaches
3. Create guidelines for promoting women involvement in sports and equal opportunities for girls/women in sports (Title IX)
