In coordination with U.S. Embassy in Morocco, the Sports Diplomacy Division will host a group of fifteen soccer coaches from the northern region of Morocco. The coaches will be part of a program that highlights the theme of using soccer to combat violent extremism and building resilient communities.
The coaches will learn youth soccer coaching techniques and youth development principles, both on and off-the-field, while exploring the role of a coach as a mentor and in building community. The program will count on partnerships with Up2Us Sports, Positive Coaching Alliance, University of Washington, University of Minnesota, among others and will take place in conjunction with numerous team building, leadership, and social-emotional programming. Upon the coaches’ return home, PAS Morocco will support implementation of participants’ action plans around the growth of soccer in communities throughout the northern portion of the country.
