1. Build capacities of IPD coaches, elite runners, and sports federation members;
2. Conduct inspirational talks, host video screenings, and book signings; and
3. Work with local organizations and agencies to build capacity for programs using running for positive social good.
These objectives will be achieved by conducting three inspirational talks, one each in Lima, Jauja, and Cusco; as well as two additional talks at the High Performance Centers in Juaja and Cusco. Sports Envoy Constantine Nicholas Karnazes will work with IPD to conduct running clinics for elite runners, runners with disabilities, and sports federation coaches focusing on building capacity, sharing best practices, and exchanging ideas. In addition, Constantine Nicholas Karnazes will work with a local rehabilitation initiative for female inmates, using running as a conduit for positive change and community inclusion. The Sports Envoy will culminate the program with a 4K run through Lima, alongside more than 80 runners from the community, as determined by the IDP.
